Helsinki Week is here again!
Helsinki Week will be celebrated in 2010 on 3-20 June and Helsinki Day on 12 June.
Helsinki Week offers and expanded programme of events before, during and after Helsinki Day. This summer residents and tourists of all ages will be treated to exciting things to do and experience. The diverse programme can be seen, heard and even tasted throughout Helsinki, from the city centre to outlying suburbs.
Helsinki Day celebrates the city’s birthday, as well as the 20th anniversary of the Samba Carnaval. In honour of this special occasion, the fun carnaval spirit and music will take over Helsinki this year for the entire weekend.
Guard's Band Festival is celebrated in Helsinki 3-6 June. Pihlajamäki Goes Blues brings out relaxing rhythms on 5 June from 2pm til 6 pm in authentic 1960's scenery. European Capitals of Culture 2011, Turku and Tallinn visit Helsinki as they present themselves at Senate Square on 11 and 13 June. Les Lumierès Festival is celebrated 14-20 June in Suomenlinna and elsewhere in Helsinki. Samba Carnaval spreads its carnaval spirit all over Helsinki 11-12 June and people can samba through the night in salsa parties downtown.
